Job responsibilities
The Media and Advocacy Officer's main job responsibilities are as follows:
- Prepare event report, and write-ups on the research conducted by the Research officers and interns consulting Project Manager;
- Maintain liaison with relevant ministries and other stakeholders for better implementation of the programme;
- Attend e-meetings, e-training, e-workshops, webinars, etc., if and when mandated by Project Coordinator;
- Assist the Project Coordinator in its other relevant activities as required.
- Keep record of updates of the ministries from social media;
- Maintain and regularly update the project website and project pages with updates of the state machineries, and provide recommendation and suggestions, if and when required, to make the page vibrant;
- Upload and organise news updates, activity reports, policy developments, and monitoring outputs related to relevant ministries;
- Ensure that information on the website is accurate, timely, and accessible to the public.
Requirements
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Media and Communication, Journalism, Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Development Studies, or a related field.

Current university student in a related Bachelors degree programme
Professional Requirements
Basic experience in organising online/digital campaigns and advocacy initiatives;
Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team;
Proficiency in written and spoken English and Bangla, including strong editing skills;
Ability to summarise policy developments or government actions clearly;
Ability to translate government documents and policy updates into short readable and accessible posts;
Basic familiarity with website management or content management systems (e.g., WordPress, WIX, or similar platforms);
Experience with social media communication, digital content creation, or digital advocacy;
Familiarity with public institutions, ministries, or governance issues in Bangladesh;
Experience is desirable, including previous internships, and involvement in voluntary initiatives, but not required.
