Frequently asked questions
We welcome applications from a range of fields depending on the wing the applicant is willing to apply under. It is necessary that you possess the following educational qualifications and skills:
General
• Enrolled in or passed any stream of Higher secondary education. This includes students from any recognised school or colleges (HSC or A-levels), or university with a Bachelor’s/Master’s/Post-Graduate degree in a social science discipline.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Writing and Verbal);
• Proficient in both English and Bangla (Writing and Verbal);
• Ability to conduct desk and field-based research;
• Adequate computer and technology skills
• Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Google Suite Tools (Sheets, Docs, Slides, and Forms)
• Internet Browsing
Specific Wings
Research Wing:
- To join as a legal research intern, the applicant must at least be enrolled in a law college or university. They must have a basic understanding of how to conduct research and possess analytical skills. Students with some experience in research, particularly with law reports, judgments/decisions and other sources will be given preference.
- A law graduate or a final-year law student, with prior research experience, is required to apply to be a legal researcher.
Advocacy Wing:
- The applicant must, at minimum, be enrolled in a university in sociology and humanitarian department to be considered for an advocacy internship.
- To join as an advocacy lead position, the applicant must have these following skills: Communication skills, Networking, Presentation skills, drafting skills, Research, Analytical skills, Teamwork, Time management.
- To be considered for an advocate lead position, the candidate must be able to demonstrate the following skills in addition to having a bachelor's degree in sociology or be a final-year student: networking, communication, presenting, drafting, research, analytical, teamwork, and time management.
Creative Wing:
- To join as a content creator, writer, or designer, the applicant must at least have some working experience. The applicant is expected to have a port-folio to showcase their skills, which can be a simple collection/album of previous works. The applicant must have the required technical skills to design content (Abode Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, etc). No specific educational qualification is required.
Audio-Visual Wing:
- To join as a Voice-over or Audio-visual artist, the applicant must at least have some experience speaking in front of a microphone and/or camera. The applicant is expected to be fluent in English and Bangla and have exceptionally strong verbal skills. The applicant is also expected to own their own microphone and/or camera to record content.

Yes, you can. We have a number of positions available for students who are enrolled in their Bachelor’s programme.
No. Unless the opportunity specifically seeks a special skill-set, we welcome students with little to no work experience, unless it is specifically required for the position you are applying for. Here at Map of Justice, we take pride in building and tailoring skills within students to prepare them for the professional world.
No. Unless applying for a specific special role, no special knowledge, certificate or licence is required to be a part of our general team.
Getting involved in our initiatives and programmes are completely voluntary in nature. This is an unpaid opportunity. Thus, unless specifically mentioned anywhere in the project or programme for a paid position, you will not be paid.
Yes. We run our operations and activities primarily in digital spaces. Unless specifically mentioned anywhere in the project or programme for you to commute for a specific task, you will be working remotely.
Based on the Wing/Team you apply under, and the need for the programme and demand by the programme leader, you will be expected to do a multitude of tasks relevant to your role.
For example, some possible tasks for a Research Assistant may be as follows:
• Collecting, analysing and managing data and information (primary or secondary)
• Conducting literature reviews and other secondary research
• Preparing concept notes, talking points, and event reports for events
• Preparing interview and/or survey questions
• Attending regular e-meetings with team members as and when called
• Corresponding regularly via email and text with the policymaker and other partners
No. Unfortunately, we will be unable to provide any certificate to you.
However, we understand your need. Thus, given that you stay and work with us for a minimum of 6 months, and complete your task with excellence, we will write for you a recommendation letter for your time and commitment at Map of Justice.
You are expected to work 20 hours per week.
There is no specific duration one is expected to remain for in any position, unless it has been specifically mentioned otherwise regarding time commitment in our promotional posts.
However, if you want to receive a recommendation letter from us, you are required to work with us for a minimum of 6 months.
