Job responsibilities
The Research Officer's main job responsibilities are as follows:
- Collate research on the mandates, policies, programmes, and activities of government ministries and state machineries;
- Delegate tasks efficiently within the team
- Coordinate the preparation of periodic research and policy briefs, and analytical summaries regularly per the instruction of the Project Manager;
- Coordinate with other officers to produce evidence-based content for the project’s website, reports, and advocacy materials following consultation with Project Coordinator;
- Support the Project Manager and Coordinator with research inputs for project planning and reporting with the Weekly and Bi-monthly reports;
- Maintain organised records of research sources and datasets with proper references.
Requirements
Educational Requirements
Master’s degree in Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Development Studies, Economics, or other relevant social science disciplines.

Recent graduates or students in advanced stages of study demonstrating strong research skills may also be considered [evidence of research skills would be requested if shortlisted]
Professional Requirements
Strong research and analytical skills;
Good command over current affairs and political situation of Bangladesh, and global politics;
Ability to review and interpret laws, policies, and government documents;
Proficient academic writing and editing skills;
Proficient command over verbal, reading and writing English Language;
Ability to work with different types of data-sets, including qualitative and documentary sources.
