Requirements

1. Educational Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in Law School: Candidates enrolled in law schools, both graduate and undergraduate.  

  • Relevant Coursework: Coursework related to legal research, writing, and specific areas of law (e.g., constitutional law, civil law, criminal law, international law, etc.) is emphasized.

2. Research Skills

  • Attention to Detail: Legal research requires precision, so interns must have the ability to analyze case law, statutes, and other legal documents meticulously.

  • Analytical Thinking: The ability to synthesize complex legal issues and identify relevant precedents, statutes, or regulations is key.

3. Writing Skills

  • Strong Legal Writing: Interns are often required to draft research report, case summaries in clear, concise, and well-organized manner.

  • Proofreading and Editing: Ability to review written work for grammar, clarity, and legal accuracy.

4. Communication Skills

  • Written and Oral Communication: Interns should be able to present their research findings clearly, both in writing and verbally, to supervisors.

  • Collaboration: Being able to work within a team or collaborate with other professionals is an essential quality.

5. Time Management and Organization

  • Ability to Handle Multiple Tasks: Legal research often involves working on multiple projects simultaneously. Interns should be organized and able to prioritize effectively.

  • Meeting Deadlines: Timely completion of research and writing assignments is essential.

6. Personal Qualities

  • Adaptability: Legal research tasks can vary widely. Being flexible and adaptable to new tasks or changes in a project’s direction is important.

  • Ethics and Integrity: Interns must adhere to professional ethics, ensuring confidentiality and maintaining integrity while working with sensitive legal information.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

•Conduct desk research and literature reviews.

•Assist in conducting interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), and other qualitative data collection methods.

•Transcribe and translate interview and FGD recordings.

•Clean, organize, and manage in delivering the given tasks.

•Assist in drafting research reports.

•Other operational tasks assigned by the management.
